2010 Competitor in the Poetry Idol Final in BMW Edge at the Melbourne Writers' Festival.
I was randomly selected from the 10 Whitmore Prize shortlistees to compete at the Poetry Idol Final. This was an interesting experience as reading out my poetry scares the crap out of me at the best of times, and BMW Edge holds 450 people.

2009 - 2010 Australian Poetry Centre Cafe Poet.
I completed a six month residency at Caffe Sospeso, then moved on to an indefinite residency at Booktalk Cafe (soz, no website available). In its simplest form the residency involves writing in the cafe once a week in return for a cup of tea, but it is also set up to connect poets with the community, which means running events and trying to think of ways to get people to notice me.

2009 Awarded the inaugural Dorothy Porter Holmesglen Prize.
This prize was created by Holmesglen TAFE, and awarded by Kristin Henry. I recieved it for support of new poets in my work on Sospeso Readings.

2009 Awarded the Poetry Idol Encouragement Award at the Fitzroy heat in Fitzroy Town Hall.
The poem I read was "I was never attracted to Superman", which has since been published twice.

2008 - 2011 university material
Charles Sturt University's creative writing students have studied my poem "Soulmates" since 2008.

2006 Mentored by Bernard Cohen
As a part of the YOWW Project (Youth Online Writing Workshops) I was mentored by Bernard Cohen, and spent some time constructing an e-publication that created a world and told a story using a labyrinthian structure.
